Photography, as shorthand expression, has been a useful device at times when my mental health prevented me from picking up a tool to make, or a pencil to write. Black and white film was my preference and camera, film or digital, was my choice of recording the 'pictures' I would find about me.

The development of mobile phones, picture storage and basic editing apps has made this ever-present gadget my go-to camera.
